Bike
Biking in San Bernardino is not just a means of exploration, but a real experience in itself. The resort offers a wide range of possibilities for two-wheelers, whether you want to tackle steep slopes or gentler slopes.
In the center of the village at San Bernardino Rent & Shop Bike you can rent mountain bikes and e-bikes. There is also a convenient bike washing service, an assistance and maintenance center with a mechanic and a bike storage. The less experienced and those who want to feel safer on two wheels in the mountains can count on the comfortable San Bernardino School (at the same address) for lessons and accompaniment.

ITINERARY 1 - ASPHALT
San Bernardino - San Vittore
The bike tour that starts from San Bernardino and arrives in San Vittore along the lower Mesolcina is challenging but definitely fascinating from a landscape point of view. The stretch from Grono to Castione runs along the line of the ancient Rhaetian Railway that connected Castione and Mesocco, which has now been transformed into a cycle path. Those who wish to continue can still cycle from Castione to Bellinzona.
ITINERARY 2 - DIRT ROAD
Pian Cales (641)
A bike ride of low difficulty that starts from the village of San Bernardino and then climbs the slopes of Pian Cales. At Alp de Pian Doss you can take a break, and then start the descent that leads to the small lake below and to one of the most important peat bogs in the southern Alpine area. On a clear day it is possible to see the ruins of the Castle of Mesocco. On the way back, you cycle along the shores of Lake Isola.
ITINERARY 3 - DIRT ROAD
Pine Pipe (642)
Challenging bike trail that starts in the center of San Bernardino and, in a first stretch, crosses marshy and hilly landscapes, the Lagh de Pian Doss, historic houses and dense vegetation. The village of Pian San Giacomo marks the lowest point of the tour: from here a long climb takes you back to San Bernardino and Lake Isola.
