An itinerary once traveled exclusively on foot or on mules, today a paradise for bicycles. The length and elevation gain are by no means prohibitive, but the steepness of the hairpin bends that climb towards the San Bernardino Pass is not to be underestimated. Numerous curves – on roads with excellent visibility and little traffic – lead from the village to a mountain landscape with sharp surfaces, sheepskin rocks, and a myriad of lakes and peat bogs. After the pass, the descent to Splügen is pleasant and relaxing, and allows you to rest your legs a little while remaining immersed in the beauty of the surrounding nature. The route ends shortly after, in the delightful Andeer, famous for its thermal baths.
