A downhill trek that winds along an interesting alpine panorama. We start from the Hospice at San Bernardino Pass, following a comfortable trail through alpine vegetation to Alp de Muccia, Alpe Vigon, and Confin Bass. In about three hours from the start you reach Passit Pass with its delightful high altitude lakes. We continue to descend, crossing first several alpine pastures and then the Cima de la Duleira. After forty-five minutes we conquer Alp d’Arbea at 1823 meters, and then begin the final descent down the valley through Pradinon and Valineu mountains, and finally Pian San Giacomo. There are then two alternatives: to San Bernardino and to Pian San Giacomo. In the first case, it is possible to deviate from the route once you reach Confin Bass: at the intermediate station of the ski lifts, simply cross Bosch d’Isola to reach the center of San Bernardino. In the second case, to still get to Pian San Giacomo, but along the forest road, you can interrupt the route shortly after Alp d’Arbea and descend through the Cebi and Pignela mountains.
